Sensory Tray: Surprise Eggs!

I’m trying to make every play feels different for the kids, even if the materials we used are the same. We’ve been working with pom poms and buttons for the last few days and the kids are still very interested playing with them. To add a little new experience, we bought candies (which comes in a plastic egg container) from the mini market. Kids didn’t eat the candies, they just took the toy inside and I took the plastic egg for our activities.

Put buttons and pompoms inside the eggs (added some bottle caps to the play).

Surprise!

They seem to find their own ways to play with the materials provided.

What can we learn from this activity?
– sensory experience
– fine motor skills stimulation
– counting
– colours
– sorting
– sizes
– patterns
– vocabulary/story telling
– pretend play
